Heartland Monitor Poll: Gender Wars

The latest Allstate – National Journal Heartland Monitor Poll, held on March 16, served as a discussion driver and to gauge perspectives on how men and women will fare economically in the coming decades.

Who is better suited to thrive in the next economy: men or women?  The increasing movement of women into higher education and the workforce is one of the greatest social transformations of our time.  While women account for more than half of US payrolls and earn the majority of post-secondary degrees, men continue to earn higher salaries and hold more management positions.  The Heartland Monitor briefing, presented by National Journal and The Atlantic, and underwritten by Allstate, will examine the social, cultural, and economic implications of the shifting gender demographics in higher education and the workforce.
